Thank you to everyone who donated to our favourite charities. Together we raised in excess of $5,000!
Rather than gifts, Ruth and David would prefer you consider making a donation. We are keenly interested in the following charitable organisations. Please click on the donation links here and the information below.

Sometime after the wedding, David and Ruth intend to purchase a boat and try the live-aboard lifestyle. We hope to make the boat all-electric and promote a self-sustainable lifestyle. The following links may provide more information:
Ruth and Dave would like to ensure you take happiness, hope, friendship and some great pictures, video and memories home with you.
If there is something we can do to make your trip to the wild west coast of Canada more enjoyable, please click on the message bubble at the foot of this page and let us know.

The North Shore Harvest Project is the food-bank-like place we donate to. They provide a 'hand-up' not a 'hand-out' to people across Metro-Vancouver’s North Shore challenged by family break-down, illness, job loss and poverty. They provide client-care coaching + counsel, grocery + clothing support, emergency drop-in help, and through their Clothes For Change thrift shop, clothing for families and others in need. They impact the community by breaking the poverty cycle + restoring people to healthier lives. They need our help.
Living Oceans help to clean beaches, protect orca and salmon habitats, lobby to establish marine sanctuaries and many other good works. They are good people.

Veterans who have difficulties with the transition to civilian life are the most vulnerable: feeling isolated from the world saps the strength they need to combat depression, post-traumatic stress, or substance abuse.
This period after they leave service has been shown as the critical point keeping our Vets from winding up on the streets.
Veterans Transition Network offers Connection, Communication, Self-Maintenance and Future Planning, help, advice, training and friendship.
The Wilderness Committee are a BC-based conservation group with big hearts that continues to grow in size and capacity year on year. They campaign against oil pipelines, unnecessary hydroelectric projects, salmon farming, marine habitat loss and clear-cutting forestry practices (especially of old-growth forests), all the while practicing a policy of peaceful and legal protest.

Located in North Vancouver, BC, the North Shore Women’s Centre is dedicated to improving the social, economic, legal and political status of women, and encourages and supports self-empowerment by acting as a resource and a catalyst for change, from feminist perspectives. We aim to provide women with access to resources and assist them with life choices, actively address violence against women at all levels of the community, challenge sexism and discrimination in the community, and work towards the elimination of the feminization of poverty. The NSWC welcomes women and gender diverse individuals, including those who identify as trans, Two-Spirit, and/or non-binary.
